Hedley Lawson, Managing Partner
Hedley Lawson is a highly acclaimed senior corporate executive, board member, and board and management advisor. As Managing Partner for Aligned Growth Partners, LLC, he has worked with and advised domestic and global boards of directors, executive committees, and organizational leadership to develop and successfully execute corporate strategic plans and build exceptional organizations, from start-up and pre-IPO companies to global, publicly-listed corporations. His specific expertise is in strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, executive search, succession planning, human capital and organizational excellence, international business and geographic diversification, and increasing shareholder value.
Prior to joining AGP, Hedley was Vice President Global Human Resources for Multi-Fineline Electronix, Inc. (MFLEX) where he was responsible for MFLEX's global human capital strategy, practice and organizational excellence initiatives for a workforce of 20,000 colleagues. In this role, Hedley reported to the president and chief executive officer, was a member of the executive leadership team, and worked with the board of directors and compensation committee. In 2007, he led the corporation's global strategic planning process resulting in record growth in revenue and operating income. The company was subsequently recognized by Business Week and Fortune Magazine as one of America's fastest growing corporations.
Prior to joining MFLEX, Hedley's executive leadership roles included Senior Vice President Global Human Resources for Fair, Isaac and Company, Inc.; Senior Vice President Human Resources and Quality Management and Vice President Americas for SOLA International, Inc.; and Vice President Human Resources for QuantumShift Communications, Inc.
A frequent professional speaker, Hedley has delivered over 100 key note speeches and seminars to trade conventions, annual business and leadership meetings, and university business schools.
For over two decades, Hedley has been a contributing editor and author on a wide variety of business and human capital subjects for various publications of Jobson Medical Information, LLC, a global healthcare publishing and communications company.
Hedley holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from California State University and a Master's degree with a double major in human resources management and organizational development from Golden Gate University, San Francisco. He is a graduate of the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania in-residence Financial Management and Executive Development programs. Hedley is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors and the International Executive Resource Group. He is also an Accredited Investor.
Barry Weitzenberg, Senior Partner
Barry Weitzenberg is a Senior Partner with Aligned Growth Partners, bringing global organizational and P/L leadership experience to the firm. Barry has served in a number of senior executive positions, including President, Chief Operating Officer, Executive Vice President Operations, and Senior Vice President. His experience covers high technology, bio-medical, medical device technology and manufacturing companies with annual revenues spanning from start-ups to up to $300 million, including: JDSU Custom Optics Group (formerly OCLI), SOLA Optical USA, Material Progress Corp., National Controls, Inc., and FMC Corp..
Barry's leadership experience includes development of leading-edge strategy and strategic implementation expertise in manufacturing, engineering, finance, research and development, marketing and sales, and human resource functions, with teams spanning multiple domestic and global locations.
Barry holds a BS degree in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the University of California at Berkeley, and earned an MBA, with honors, at the University of Santa Clara. An athlete and outdoors enthusiast, he was a member of the United States water polo teams at the Mexico City and Munich Olympic games.
Choong-Pew Lee, Senior Partner
CP Lee brings extensive human resource and business management experience in both public listed and privately held multi-national corporations to his role as a Senior Partner with Aligned Growth Partners. Throughout his career, CP has successfully developed and implemented people strategy aligning with company strategy in his track-records. CP heads the firm’s Singapore office.
CP was the Vice President, Global Human Resources of Multi-Fineline Electronix, Inc. (MFLEX) from 2011 to 2016. He was also appointed to be the General Manager of MFLEX’s subsidiary in Suzhou, China since 2014. During his tenure with MFLEX, CP was involved in making strategic business decisions, nurturing a sustainable corporate culture throughout various operations worldwide, as well as leading the organization transformation projects, including the transition of successful merger between MFLEX and DSBJ.
Prior to his 5-year’s stint with MFLEX, CP was the Vice President of Human Resources for Ching Luh Group, a leading athletic footwear manufacturing group of companies with 80,000-strong workforce and operations in China, Vietnam and Indonesia supplying to major global brands. He was responsible for the Group’s overall human resource policy and has been involved in the setting up of a new athletic footwear factory in Indonesia.
CP started his career with Motorola in Singapore and he has been given increasing responsibility in operations and human resources roles over the 20 years, working in Singapore and China. He held the role of Vice President Human Resources for Motorola in Asia Pacific region covering 14 countries and was also appointed to be a member of Board of Directors representing the interest of Motorola for three joint ventures in China and six wholly owned legal entities in Singapore. CP was heavily involved with Motorola University in Asia Pacific region which has provided training courses and knowledge transfer to Motorola employees, customers, suppliers and communities.
CP graduated with a bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from the National University of Singapore, a Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management from Singapore Institute of Management, and completed an Executive Program at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in the US. During the period when he lived in Beijing from 1998 to 2009, he was involved with Western Academy of Beijing Educational Foundation, a non-profit international school.
Cliff Grushcow, Senior Partner
Cliff Gruschow brings decades of national technical and business management experience as a Senior Partner to Aligned Growth Partners. Cliff heads the firm's east coast practice office from Richmond, Virginia.
Cliff has served as Vice President and in senior executive positions for high technology companies like Johnson and Johnson, Essilor of America, SOLA Optical USA, Inc. and Coburn Optical.
Cliff’s unique ability to work with corporate executives as well as entrepreneurs allows him to provide leadership to all type of companies and with all phases of a companies’ business operations to provide financial bottom line improvement. He specializes in developing manufacturing strategic plans to develop greatly improved efficiencies in companies and to help companies find cost improvement strategies to improve their P&L. As well, he focuses teams on consensus building to help companies move forward quickly sustainably and successfully.
With Essilor of America Cliff and his staff managed fourteen different companies ranging in revenues from $4million to $30 million.
At Johnson and Johnson, Cliff was the official Liaison between R&D, Sales, Marketing, Engineering and Manufacturing in a start-up company where he successfully brought a major new product to market.
At Coburn Optical and SOLA Optical, Cliff helped lead the engineering effort in plastic optical lenses manufacturing yield and productivity improvement. Also while with SOLA Optical, he was Plant General Manager for SOLA’s newly acquired polycarbonate lens factory in Miami, Florida.
Cliff holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Cliff was trained in Six Sigma by Johnson and Johnson and Essilor of America.
Kong Ng, Senior Partner
Kong Ng is a Senior Partner with Aligned Growth Partners, LLC, and brings decades of business and public sector experience in leading and managing high performance teams. Kong heads the firm's Australia, New Zealand and Asia practice office in Adelaide, Australia.
Kong's experience includes planning, manufacturing, operations and sales as well as complex multimillion dollar projects. While with SOLA International, Inc., Kong managed the planning and production ramp-up of optical and sunglass lenses factories in China. Subsequently while with Carl Zeiss Vision, he was instrumental in revamping the supply chain for Asia Pacific, achieving significant working capital reductions and service level improvements. He later joined the CZV sales division in China and led the expansion and performance upscaling of retail in-store Zeiss promoters. All these activities involved coordination of multinational teams of professionals in various fields, requiring both technical knowledge and cross-cultural empathy.
Prior to SOLA Optical, he served as head of engineering and later Director of Planning and Development in public arm of the South Australian government where he initiated cost saving and running cost improvements with a reduced headcount while providing local industry with smooth, sustained work load. He led a world leading project to convert 20% of diesel buses to run on natural gas, and was later involved in the planning and execution of privatizing the operation of bus services resulting in substantial financial and community benefits.
Kong holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Sheffield University in England, a Dip Ed (Sheffield College of Education), and an MBA from Adelaide University, Australia. He is fluent in English and Chinese and highly knowledgeable in multi-cultural environments.
Lidia Vargas, Senior Partner Emeritus
Lidia Vargas brought extensive human capital expertise to her role as Senior Partner with Aligned Growth Partners. Lidia held senior human resources management positions in multi-location domestic and global high technology manufacturing, financial services and the wine industry.
Lidia was Director Human Resources and Global Learning for Multi-FinelineElectronix, Inc. (MFLEX), a multi-million, global high technology consumer electronics corporation where she was responsible for providing human resources leadership for the corporate office and international locations in Singapore, Taiwan, and the UK. Globally, she was creating programs and strategies for talent acquisition, development, performance management, compensation, and policy implementation.
Prior to joining MFLEX, Lidia was Director Human Resources for Advanced Marketing Service, Inc., a billion dollar global book publishing and distribution corporation. Prior to joining AMS, she served in a similar capacity with Fair, Isaac & Company, Inc., the world-leading credit analytic company serving the banking and financial services industries.
As Human Resources Manager for Taylor California Cellars and The Monterey Vineyard, Lidia was responsible for establishing a Human Resources function in a start-up operation. This included development of all human resources administration, compensation, performance management, benefits, talent acquisition, and employee relations programs. As part of the management team, she supported company growth from fifty to two-hundred employees.
For 15-years with SOLA Optical USA, Inc. (presently Carl Zeiss Vision), Lidia headed the company's domestic HR management team responsible for manufacturing, marketing and sales, and distribution and regional service centers. She led and was directly involved in HR initiatives in organizational design, talent acquisition, training and development, employee retention, legal compliance and litigation avoidance, employee relations and union-free initiatives, compensation and benefits, human resources information systems, and environmental health and safety.
Lidia earned a Bachelor of Arts in Russian and German from Indiana University, and a Master of Science in Instructional Technology from San Jose State University. She was fully fluent in Spanish and Russian, and conversationally fluent in German.
Lidia was a wonderful colleague, team member, partner and friend who we will forever hold in the very highest regard. She is missed terribly by all who knew her.
D. Thomas Dale,Senior Partner
Tom Dale brings extensive experience with global-leading publicly-listed corporations and privately-held organizations to his role as Senior Partner with Aligned Growth Partners, LLC. Tom heads the firms southern California office from San Diego, California.
Most recently, Tom served as Chief Human Resources Officer with the United Nations Mission in Liberia, and the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo. As well, he served as Vice President and has held senior human resources executive positions for Pulse Electronics, Inc., EMC Corporation, The Gillette Company, and Denso International America. He was corporate Ethics Officer and human resources advisor to the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors of Technitrol, Inc.
Complementing his global human resources executive leadership roles, Tom also held senior general management positions with the Gillette Company in Singapore and the Republic of South Korea, where he delivered revenues ranging from $16 million to $92 million. Subsequent to these roles, Tom founded an executive search consultancy in Singapore.
Tom possesses an extensive background in advising boards of directors, executives, and senior leadership on human resources policy, strategy, and services in a global and multi-cultural context with a focus on talent acquisition, coaching, succession planning, performance management, change management, organizational effectiveness, business process optimization, and pre-acquisition due diligence and post-acquisition integration.
Tom holds a Bachelor's Degree in International Relations from Pomona College and earned an MBA Degree from Pepperdine University. He has also completed advanced management and leadership courses at Babson College and IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland. Tom is a member of the International Executive Resource Group.

Petter Parelius possesses over 20-years of innovative and broad-reaching experience in Information Technology design, development, and management as an Alliance Partner with Aligned Growth Partners, LLC. His background has varied from leading large corporate strategic development teams, to small consulting engagements evaluating and selecting critical technology solutions.
Early in his career, Petter began to see many technology decisions lacked a clear business value proposition. Technology was purchased because of its presumed "cutting edge" promise, but eventually ended up as another product on the dust shelf. Petter has focused his career on linking technology to solving real business strategic goals and current tactical business challenges and problems.
Petter has had success in business segments of Telecommunications, Commercial Insurance, Senior Care Health Services, and Automotive Services. He has lead development cycles leveraging the best in current development methodologies that engaged business stakeholders and delivered on commitments.
Petter received his BS degree in Math and Computer Science from UCLA, and his MBA degree in International Finance from Georgetown University.
Victor Deksnys, Alliance Partner
Victor Deksnys brings extensive Health and Welfare industry expertise from globally-prominent benefit advisory, brokerage, and consulting firms to his service as an Alliance Partner with Aligned Growth Partners, LLC. Victor uses his expertise to consult with privately-held, public entity, and publicly-listed businesses.
His background encompasses fiscal due diligence and regulatory matters. He is an expert in plan design structures, funding alternatives, cash-flow risk analyses, and ERISA, DOL, HHS, and ACA compliance requirements.
As Area Executive Vice President for Arthur J. Gallagher & Company, Inc., Victor served clients across the United States. In this capacity, Victor was recognized for his expertise and knowledge in devising strategic plans for client companies to meet their corporate human resources and finance objectives. Victor continues to provide Arthur J. Gallagher & Company limited advisory services on a part-time basis.
Prior to joining Arthur J. Gallagher & Company, Victor was co-founder and owner of Benefits Planning and Insurance. The firm grew to become one of the top regional benefits brokerage and consulting firms in the San Francisco Bay Area before merging the firm with AJG in 2013.
Prior to founding BPI, Victor was a Senior Consultant for Olanie, Hurst & Hembrich, a division of Fred S. James, located in San Francisco. He also worked for Prudential Insurance Company and Fireman's Fund as a Senior Underwriter earlier in his career.
Victor received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Villanova University, Pennsylvania. He is a certified Charter Life Underwriter.
